Info:

We jokingly said 2018 was our “Year of Naturals”, referring to the famed style of processing coffee that involves drying the coffee seed (beans) with the coffee fruit still intact. Nearly 40% of our offering menu last year was processed in this style, reflecting both the consumer interest in this flavor profile, the producers’ interest in meeting changing palates, as well as looking for less water-intensive methods as that resource becomes more and more precious.

The natural process usually imparts an unmistakably fruity essence to the aroma and taste of the beverage, winning over new converts and alienating purists alike. Try as they might, there is no one singular “natural” flavor, and this offering from Rwanda is proof-positive of what’s possible on the flavor spectrum.

In this coffee from the Nova Coffee producer group, you’ll find a delicious, almost delicate coffee, with a balanced acidity often lacking in dry-process coffees. The dry aroma is reminiscent of colorful, fruity breakfast cereal, while the beverage is an easy-drinking, balanced cup.

Agnes Mukamushinja, a member of the International Women’s Coffee Alliance and the co-founder of the Nova group, is proud to present this coffee to the North American market, the best Rwandan natural of the year, according to our friends at Crop to Cup Coffee Importers. We hope it resonates with you the same way it did with us!
