We’re proud to announce another direct trade relationship, our first with award-winning Peruvian coffee producer Juan Heredia Sanchez.

Mr. Heredia has been farming outside of Jaén in northern Peru his whole life, having grown up on the farm and learning the trade from his father, who learned it from his, and so on. That is to say, this is not only a way of life for him and his family, but a cultural inheritance.

After years of selling his coffee to local cooperatives and private buyers, Juan surprised the world by winning the first ever Peruvian Cup of Excellence competition in 2017. This was an immense honor that validated to the world what he already knew: The Andean land in northern Peru produces some of the finest washed coffee in the world.

We hosted Mr. Heredia at a cupping here in Tampa in February of 2019, where we got to hear first-hand about his experience and approach to growing award-winning crops. A proper mix of humbly proud, Mr. Heredia speaks of his life as a coffee grower the way one speaks of a high school sweetheart.

We present to you a bean that is complex, sweet, clean and altogether satisfying. The name of the farm in Spanish means “La Flor”, and we wouldn’t be surprised if you got hints of peonies or jasmine laying underneath the fruit tones in this cup.


All coffee is roasted to order every Monday and shipped the following day through USPS priority mail unless otherwise specified.
