Every year since 2016, it has been a priority at Eastlick to source and serve a coffee from Burundi. Distributing our buying practices across a variety of origins and economies is important to us, and especially so with places like Burundi, where coffee plays an extremely important role in the recovering economy, one of the poorest in the world.

Burundi brings an unmistakable quality to the coffee world, offering deliciously sweet coffees that play in the range of chocolatey to cranberry-tart, to more tropical fruitiness with a thick caramel body. This year’s offering is no different: Kiririma Washing Station collects coffee from over 1200 member farmers —  a truly pure definition of small-holder farming, where the family cow often creates more income than the coffee trees.

Operating since 1986, this washing station (collection center) is one of the oldest still in operation in Burundi, and is no stranger to quality, having produced the 4th place Cup of Excellence coffee in Burundi last year. We’re looking forward to sharing one of our favorite origins with you this year! Enjoy this coffee that teeters between stonefruit, citrus and floral.

All coffee is roasted to order every Monday and shipped the following day through USPS priority mail unless otherwise specified.
